本标准规定了AS 2549中定义的起重机的一般要求。

包括通过传统工作应力法进行起重机设计，也允许通过极限状态法进行设计。

注：没有一套通用的局部荷载系数，这些系数是通过极限状态法进行起重机设计所必需的。

范围: 本标准不包括AS 2359中定义的动力工业卡车。此处使用的术语“起重机”适用于起重机、起重机或绞车（视情况而定）。
